High potential and gifted education
Every student has unique strengths and ways of learning. Some may show particular talents in areas such as creativity, problem-solving, leadership, or sport.
At our school, we value and nurture each learner’s abilities from an early stage. We provide enriching lessons and activities that help all students grow, extend their learning, and thrive.

What is high potential and gifted education?
High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
Our high potential and gifted education opportunities
Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.
Intellectual Domain
What it means: This refers to a student’s natural ability in processing information, understanding complex ideas, reasoning, and transferring learning to new situations.
Your child may show a strong curiosity for understanding how things work, quickly grasp new ideas, and enjoy solving challenging problems. In the intellectual domain, we support these learners by offering deeper, richer and more complex learning opportunities to help them continue growing.
Creative Domain
What it means: This is about natural ability in imagination, originality, inventiveness and producing new ideas or ways of doing things.
Some children love to imagine, experiment and create, whether in art, writing, design or in how they solve everyday problems. We recognise this as the creative domain and provide chances for them to explore and extend their creative talents in the classroom and beyond.
Physical Domain
What it means: This refers to natural ability in movement, motor skills, coordination, agility or strength — in other words, physical/motor talents.
Many children find they’re really good at sport, dance or other physical activities — they pick up new skills fast, show strong coordination or love pushing themselves physically. We make sure there are ways for these learners to develop their physical potential as well as their academic skills.
Social-Emotional Domain
What it means: This domain involves natural ability in self-management, awareness, relating to and interacting with others, and handling one’s own emotions and social-life.
Some children shine in social or emotional ways: they may be natural leaders, very empathetic, self-aware or very attuned to others and their own feelings. Recognising the social-emotional domain means we support children not just academically, but also in their emotional growth and ability to connect, lead and contribute.
